The Hold Rule

The most important rule is the "HOLD RULE."  When someone appears to have the potential of being injured, call "HOLD!" loudly.  If you hear it called then echo it by also calling "hold," then followed by not talking or moving until the problem is taken care of.  When things are resolved, the person who called the Hold may ask "Is there any reason for this Hold to continue?"  If no one responds, you may then call "Lay ON!" and the game play will immediately begin where it left off. 
 
"Hold" may also be called for a pause in game play to ask a rules question that may make or break the game or prevent/cause a death to a character in game.  Again, once the problem is resolved, the person who called the "Hold" may call "Lay on!" and game play will continue.
 
Please DO NOT use the time during a Hold to talk to other players, discuss strategy, or look around the room for clues.
